Less about GTD (Getting Things Done) and more about DTN (Doing Things Nearby), Proxymind is perfect for organizing errands, notes or ideas with ease and simplicity. It allows users to do items which take less time based on the distance an item is from the iPhone's current location.

Among Proxymind's most prolific features is that users may attach notes to specific locations to help them focus on items in reach. Users may assign tags to their notes and focus on a subset of information, and easily categorize them.

Feature highlights include:

* Location aware

* Visualizes which items are currently within reach

* Freeform text notes

* Attach notes to locations

* Assign tags to notes

* User defined focuses to easily filter on a subset of information

* Create custom focuses based on tags and distance filtering

* Send notes as mail

* Show the location of a note in Maps or display driving information from the users current location

* Preferences to define what is 'Here', what is 'Nearby'

* Preferences for Feet or Meters

Frustrating!! (Still....)

Having now upgraded to an iPhone 4, I thought I'd give this another shot using background services. It was, in fact, running as a background app was ON in Location Services under Settings, but NOT ONCE did it alert me when I tested it and another similar app. I realize the app has not been updated to take advantage of iOS4 features, but that's been out for awhile now. I have to assume that the dev is no longer supporting it, and I found nothing on their website to contradict that assumption - actually, it appears that they've stopped doing anything since January 2010.

Original review:
I too have disappearing data and crashes EVERY TIME I try to save notes. It's useless until these get fixed.

Assuming it eventually becomes stable, I would like to be able to look up a location on a map, rather than just by address - for those times when I don't have an exact address.
